So this is where we talk about single cards, right? Well, I suppose I'll break the ice and what better way to do it than with this.
That's right!
My favorite GP unit and my Avatar, Great Silver Wolf, Garmore. Probably one of the more well known Gold Paladin cards, and one of the more well known cards in the game in general. It's got a bit of a history with the series that's almost as long as Blaster Blade's, predating to season 1 incarnation. Though I'll try to stick with his first GP incarnation as to not confuse you. As a card in gameplay, it's incredibly solid in a GP build. It's normal skill allows him to search out anything at or below Grade 2 from your deck and place it to a Rearguard circle. This type of skill is incredibly rare in Gold Paladin decks, and for good reason: A lot of GP skills will not activate unless they are called from the deck. Because of that, Garmore's skill to superior call anything you want makes him incredibly useful, and gives you full command over those skills without having to rely on random chance.
His Limit Break is just the icing on the cake. When he's at 4 damage and he targets the Vanguard for an attack, he gains an easy 5000 points of attack. No flips, or discards required, just hit 4 damage and auto 5k. This means that Garmore can hit for very hard numbers no matter what's behind him boosting, however he does have a special friend that can help him hit even harder...
Man's best friend, Charjgal. Despite this being a Single Card threat, I can't quite talk about Garmore without talking about his partner. He is Garmore's special booster. For the cost of one Soul Blast, he can give Garmore an extra 5000 points, added onto the base 6000 he has. So basically, at 4 damage, Garmore can hit for a constant 26k, provided you have the Soul to spend. This means he can hit a lot of Vanguards and demand a lot of shield. This means Garmore a major threat on the field, and it'll have the opponent putting out a lot of shields if their damage is too high. Granted, his attack won't reach as high as Ezel's on a Limit Break, but I find Garmore to be a lot more reliable on more than one front.
Update: Thanks to Xeamnz for bringing this tip up. Even without Limit Break, Charjgal's boost can sitll bring Garmore above 21k, which is enough to put a good amount of pressure on the Vanguard midgame. It's a very reliable number indeed.
Lore wise, Garmore's got a long history, as I said before. He was a Royal Paladin in the past (he even has an RP incarnation, but again, focusing on this one for now), but when the Void made it's first attack and captured the 3 Heroes, the Royal Paladin order was scattered. Garmore decided to take the reigns left by Alfred and Blaster Blade and create a new order, to restore the hope of the people of the United Sanctuary. He called upon his old friends and allies, and formed the Gold Paladins; a group of rag tag knights that will spearhead the force in the "War of Liberation". Because of his experience as a Royal Knight, he's sort of the mediator for the rag tag group of Paladins. He's the closest thing the order has to a leader, technically. He also leads his own squad, the Silver Wolf clan I do believe, a combat clan. He is also a wielder one of the legendary pieces or armor: the Armor of the Silver wolf. Despite having won the war and saved the heroes, Garmore comments that this was only the beginning. The Void will return to destroy Cray once again, however, as long as they have their leaders (The unsealed heroes), they will not falter. He continued to stay with the Paladins to help contribute to the order (The rest of his history is in his Liberator form, which will not be covered quite yet).
I've always enjoyed Garmore as my Avatar because I feel I can relate to him. Despite things looking bleak, he rallied his allies together and kept hope alive. I admire those types of people and hope I could grow to be as strong as that...of course, I don't plan on making a knighthood in this day and age, but you know. XD
You may find this card in the first Gold Paladin Trial Deck: Trial Deck 5: Slash of Silver Wolf. I recommend buying a few of these, as you do get other interesting trial deck exclusive cards with it. Garmore is a fantastic card to any Gold Paladin collection and is even Main Vanguard material. I've made a deck with him as my main Vanguard, and it did extremely well. I'd recommend 4 copies of this card, but you can get by with 3.
I suppose that's all I can talk about this single card without getting too deep into strategies that involve other cards, so I'll end it on a high note. Thanks for reading, and I'll see you next thread!
P.S: Some original copies of this card had a misprint. "Shuffle your library"
